Magnificent Mallorca

It’s almost meal time and our glasses are full of chilled white. Post-ride banter is rich as we play back some of the breathtaking descents of the day. We take our seats at the outdoor dining table underneath an ivy-covered pergola. Before us is a delectable salad of red chicory, mange tout, courgette, radish and a perfect sweet spicy apricot. From there, we move to the main plate consisting of a butternut squash purée under pork fillet with a mustard rosemary crust and red onion lentils. Pass the wine! Night has now fallen and Port d’Andratx is lit up in the distance. Next comes a delightfully saucy plum galette for dessert while being treated to live and original jazz from the terrace. This is just a taste of our Mallorca experience.

We ate like royalty!

And we rode like pros!

Mallorca has long been a favourite destination for cyclists from around the world, with many Grand Tour teams returning year after year. The weather is predictable, the roads are smooth, the drivers are courteous, the climbs are challenging and the views are spectacular. Our basecamp was an amazing 17th century restored villa.
Our trip was filled with long rides in the mountains, stunning coastline loops and quiet country roads. We rode through or stopped for coffee in several charming traditional villages.

The memories we made will last for a while. Let’s hope the fitness we gained will too!
